Iron Plate Projections – Vol. 3 Desert Dreams
The idea was to try and make photographs look abit like a painting by adding a different material into the equation. I came across an old rusty iron plate in the Copenhagen harbor that had been exposed to wind and weather for decades and thought it looked beautiful in itself.
The original 35mm slide image was projected onto this rusty iron plate and then rephotographed with a 4×5″ Sinar Camera. I used Kodak duplicating film for low contrast and optimum resolution and as such the effect creates a change of impression because now the sharpness plane and extreme detail of the iron plate – more than the projected image comes into focus resulting in a new and different aesthetic expression. These images was published and distributed by GoCard in Copenhagen, Denmark.
